A Day in the Life with Katy Stoka, Founder of One Two Cosmetics and Inventor of the Magnetic Lash

Meet Katy Stoka: Inventor of Magnetic Lash — one of the most buzzed-about innovations to ever hit the beauty market!

Get to know Katy and take a glimpse inside her day as a mom, wife and powerhouse leader behind the scenes of One Two Cosmetics.

6.00 a.m. I like to be the first person in my house to wake up. Before I look at any device or turn on TV, I take a few quiet mindful minutes. It is like pushing a "calm" button so I do not react to anything small or large throughout the day.  It's a game changer!

7.00 a.m. I love fashion and enjoy getting dressed. I have a trusted go-to look that makes getting dressed completely effortless but still allows me to have fun. I typically pair a statement piece with something classic.

The final step in my routine is One Two Lash. I invented One Two Lash because I loved the glamour of false lashes but was tired of the time and mess of glue. I wanted women to be able to apply lashes every day, at home, in seconds (Just like a watch or earrings!). Our motto? Making Beauty Effortless.

My everyday lash is the Founder’s Lash. It’s the perfect style to beautify your face but is versatile enough to feel appropriate for going to the gym or a meeting.

8.00 a.m. I drink a smoothie for breakfast, make some Nespresso (which I drink throughout the day!), and start my morning routine. First up? Reviewing work emails and tending to social media. Then it’s time to get my sons awake, fed and off to school. After that, I head to the gym for my favorite DanceBody class or back home to work.

10.00 a.m. Answer emails and take phone meetings from my home office while the house is quiet. This is when I get most of my work done. No two days are the same! I divide my time between working with all of our departments, including production, product development, social media, and PR. As a startup company, there are always lots of decisions to be made — everything from early product development all the way to packaging.

1.00 p.m. Occasionally, I have a social lunch or philanthropic event. These aren’t a daily occurrence, but when they do happen they are full of networking and catching up with amazing, inspiring women. I focus on causes that empower women and children. Two of my favorites are Children’s Home Society and Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Fund.

3.00 p.m. Pick my children up from school — my favorite part of the day! I cherish the time alone with my boys in the car and love hearing all about their days as we head to sports and activities.

6.00 p.m. I make dinner at home for my family most nights. Our go-to is something healthy with lots of veggies. My grown-up indulgences are a little bit of wine and a piece of dark chocolate.

8.00 p.m. Occasionally, my husband and I have an event or date night. Since we're still busy helping our kids finish homework and checking our own correspondence, I try to maximize time by switching up my accessories in order to take my look from day to night quickly. A statement earring, sexy shoes and One Two Lash in Bombshell make me feel evening-ready.

10.00 p.m. The day is finally starting to wind down. I do a final check of email and social media. Seeing selfies of women loving their lashes is a fun and rewarding way to end the workday! I wash my face, put my lashes to sleep in their case, and get ready for bed. My favorite way to calm down and get ready for bed is to drink chamomile tea and read.

11.00 p.m. Off to sleep where I dream about Making Beauty Effortless.
