MEET Noëlle
Meet Noëlle Santos: the woman bringing books back to the Bronx.
MORE ABOUT NOëLLE:
- Woman in Charge: Noëlle is in the process of opening the Lit Bar — a bookstore/wine bar in one. She was inspired in 2014 after learning that the only bookstore in the Bronx was in jeopardy of closing. Her goal? To inspire education through reading, deepen community connections, and promote forward thinking.
- Early Motivation: After deciding to address the Bronx's book crisis, Noëlle had to find the means to make it happen. She won the New York Public Library and Citi Foundation’s 2016 Business Plan Competition and crowdfunded more than $150,000. Impressed yet? Noëlle accomplished all of this while working full-time as a certified Human Resources Professional on Wall Street.
- Creating a Community: Noëlle is the creator of Readers & Shakers, a hybrid book club designed to connect women through literary (and real-life!) discussions. Today, more than 700 women network and bond over a love of reading alongside Noëlle.
