Here at Maggy London, there’s nothing we love more than stories about incredible women. That’s why this week, we’re introducing you to the women who inspire us the most: our moms.

This week, we celebrated the women who started it all.

Meet Rachel, our Influencer Marketing Manager, and her mom Karen.

Q&A

We sat down with Rachel to talk about what makes her mom so special.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY WITH YOUR MOM?

Any time I get to spend with my mom is my favorite! If I had to pick just one memory it would be when I was studying abroad in London, I had been there for just about 4 months and I was feeling really, really homesick. My mom flew out for my graduation and the day she landed, when I finally saw her and hugged her, I instantly felt so much better! It felt like being back home. A few days later, after my graduation, we went to Italy and we had the best time just exploring together. I got to show her some of my favorite places in Italy and it was so special getting to do that just the two of us. (Okay that's two memories but it's really hard to pick just one!)

WHAT DO YOU ADMIRE MOST ABOUT YOUR MOM?

I admire my mom's tenacity, compassion, and courage. My mom is never afraid to put herself out there and try new things, she works hard to succeed at new challenges which have really influenced the type of person I grew up to be. Most of all I admire her compassion for others. My mom will go above and beyond to help the people she cares about. I'm lucky to know that I can call my mom whenever I need help or feel stressed and she always makes me feel better!

TELL US ONE SPECIAL THING NO ONE ELSE KNOWS ABOUT YOUR MOM.

One thing that people don't know about my mom is that my mom has always wished she had a signing voice like Ann Wilson from Heart or Lzzy Hale from Halestorm. My mom has great taste in music and now I know why she loves it so much, she's always wanted to be a rockstar!

WHEN DO YOU THINK YOUR MOM IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL?

My mom is always beautiful, especially when she laughs! I just love seeing my mom happy and seeing her smile. My mom and I joke around a lot and I've noticed over the years that we have the same laugh (like mother like daughter)!

IF YOU COULD TELL YOUR MOM ANYTHING RIGHT NOW, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I would tell her thank you and I love you (I usually tell her this at least once a day, but you can never say it enough)! My mom has been so supportive of all the things I've done, from going to graduate school to moving to New York. I honestly could never have accomplished the things I have without her constant love and support. Whenever I talk about my mom people always tell me how lucky I am to have such a close relationship with her and that's something I never take for granted! My mom is my best friend, we talk every single day and I'm so grateful for every moment we spend together.
