Social Calendar: How to Transition Summer Pieces Into Fall

Welcome to the second installment of Transition Dressing 101 (Missed Part 1? Don't stress! Click right here to see your favorite work dresses styled two different ways). We hope you're ready to have some fun, because it's officially P-A-R-T-Y time! We teamed up with styling expert Mary Gui of  Layers of Chic to show you how to transition our best party dresses from warm weather alllll the way into chillier temperatures.

HOW TO WEAR NOW

Pro tip: Embrace the blue. Our two favorite things about the Sasha Midi? 1) The most swoon-worthy statement sleeves in the whole wide world, and 2) Royal. Blue. Take your party (or date night or happy hour) look to the next level and bring that perfect blue hue below the ankle. Best part? Blue suede heels are one of the "It" pieces of the season, so they won't be hard to find!

HOW TO WEAR LATER

Pro tip: It's all about the bootie. We totally get that booties can be a liiiittle bit intimidating (especially with a midi), but don't stress! Booties can be worn and styled just as easily as your favorite pair of heels.

We love how Mary paired her Sasha dress with a super Fall-friendly wine hue, but we understand that bold colors aren't always the easiest to style at home (especially for bootie beginners). Want to ease into the bootie game with something a little simpler? No prob! An easy side zip in neutral black or taupe will work just as well.

HOW TO WEAR NOW

Pro tip: Play with jewel tones. Like we said last week, Fall 2017 is all about jewel tones. 1) Start with your favorite LBJ, and 2) add trendy pops of ruby red, emerald green and sapphire blue. (Psst! And with this convenient jumpsuit coverage, you won't need to grab a jacket before you leave the house).

HOW TO WEAR LATER

Pro tip: Polish up your denim. Breaking: We've been informed by our very trendy style confidantes that this will be the season for Dressy-Dress-Down. Translation? Get ready to balance polished pieces with casual denim and fun flats...and cooler weather = the perfect opportunity to try it.

HOW TO WEAR NOW

Pro tip: Keep things neutral. With the prettiest textured fabric and waistline detailing straight off the runway, you won't want to cover up our Harriet dress just yet...and with weather not quite cold enough for layers, you won't have to! Let your dress do the talking and pair with chic neutrals.

Pro tip: Play with pink. We know, we know...we usually recommend pairing a statement dress with simpler styling, but this is party time! Here's how we see it: As temperatures drop, you'll have to cover up even your most fabulous dresses in order to stay warm...So why not pick a color that makes you smile?

Try something that's equal parts wearable and W-O-W, like this trendy blush. Pink is automatically playful, but this soft desaturated hue makes it as easy to wear as your favorite neutrals.
